Applications for changes to the statutes at the general meeting

While the Statutes Commission has been responsible for changes to the statutes of VfL von 1899 eV Osnabrück in recent years, 19 students from the University of Osnabrück intensively examined all facets of the current statutes as part of a seminar on the topic “VfL Osnabrück needs a new statute.” Statutes of the VfL under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Lars Leuschner, Tim Wöffen and Johannes Enneking led and proposed to the executive board.

The first findings were presented and discussed on October 26th and 27th, 2023 in the offices at Bremer Brücke. The written elaboration of the topics in the form of seminar papers took place by December 22, 2023. The findings presented by the students in their work were largely incorporated into the subsequent amendments.

A number of opportunities for improvement in the statutes were discovered. This doesn’t just affect individual parts. The potential for improvement runs through the entire statute. From the students’ point of view, it is preferable to completely rewrite the statutes in the sense of a “general reform” in the following years and to prepare this now. In addition to individual aspects, the deficits primarily also affect the structure, organization and clarity and can therefore only be eliminated through a new version.

The proposed changes were subsequently discussed by Vice President Christoph Determann (photo) in individual discussions with the association’s department heads or their representatives. A very warm thank you for the very good and trusting cooperation goes to Doris Hegekötter (gymnastics department), Axel Balzer (Honorary Council), Nikolaus Hahnenkamp (football department), Werner Negwer (swimming department), Ralf Wöstmann (table tennis department), Benjamin Wischmeyer (fans department) and lawyer Joachim Bensmann.

The planned changes to the statutes were formulated by Prof. Dr. Lars Leuschner, the law firm of the lawyer Joachim Bensmann and Christoph Determann. As a result, the above-mentioned department heads of the association or their representatives approved the changes to the statutes in just one (!) meeting on August 12, 2024, which will now be submitted as an application to the general meeting on November 17, 2024.
