New leaks about Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 and Surface Pro 12

New leaks about Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 and Surface Pro 12

Microsoft hasn’t renewed its Surface product line too often in recent years, especially after discontinuing the successful Surface Duo and Surface Neo product lines. However, this year the company has decided to launch four different Surface products: the Surface Laptop 6 for business, the Surface Laptop 7, the Surface Pro 10 for business and the Surface Pro 11 (currently on Amazon for 1749 euros ). available).

While there have been “For Business” variants in the past, this generation is the first to differ from its consumer counterparts in processor architecture and design. New information now suggests that Microsoft could return to a high-profile hardware update for its Surface Pro and Surface Laptop lineup, at least for the “For Business” variants.

It wasn’t even a week ago that images of a possible “Surface Laptop 8 for Business” surfaced online. A recent article published on Chiphell states that Microsoft will release the device, which is being developed under the codename “831_WID,” under that name. A Surface Pro counterpart called “830_QUN” is also reportedly in development and will be released as “Surface Pro 12 for Business”.

Both devices are said to be equipped with the Core Ultra 5 226V, Core Ultra 7 266V and Core Ultra 7 268V processors. This means that the Surface Laptop 8 for Business and Surface Pro 12 for Business will be sold in variants with 16GB and 32GB of RAM. Additionally, both devices are likely to reflect the design changes that Microsoft introduced to its ARM-based consumer variants earlier this year.

This coincides with an earlier report that surfaced on Reddit late last month. The leaker’s account has since been deleted, but it was said to be a Microsoft partner who had been “reliable for years.” It’s also entirely possible that Microsoft will confirm details at a new Copilot Plus or Business event in March or April 2025.
