DCSO: 3 people arrested after investigation leads to seizure of drugs and firearms

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, three people were arrested after drugs and a firearm were discovered during a drug trafficking investigation.

According to DCSO, investigators from the DCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU), General Investigations Unit and Patrol Division executed a search warrant on Tuesday at the home of Rebecca Denson in the 1200 block of Helga Court.

According to the news release, Denson was classified as a suspect by SIU detectives based on information received from the community. During the search warrant, investigators located and seized evidence related to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, including methamphetamine, marijuana, multiple doses of LSD, heroin laced with fentanyl, fentanyl pills, glass pipes used to smoke narcotics and a loaded 9mm handgun, officials said it in the press release. All evidence was logged at the DCSO building.

Denson was previously arrested by the SIU on September 24 during a search operation at the same apartment. According to DCSO, as a result of this operation, several suspects were arrested and transported to the Daviess County Detention Center.

According to DCSO, the following people were charged: Rebecca Denson, 33, of the 1200 block of Helga Court, Owensboro; Justin R. Bowlds, 26, of the 2900 block of US 62 East, Beaver Dam; and Derwin E. White, 31, of the 1200 block of Helga Court, Owensboro.

They all face the following charges:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st Felony (fentanyl) (armed)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – 1st Graduation, 1st Felony (Meth) (Armed)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – 1st Graduation, 1st Criminal offense (LSD) (while armed)
  • Trafficking in marijuana, 1st crime (armed)
  • Purchase/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Armed)

Bowlds and White face the additional charge of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
