Monster Hunter Wilds holds one open beta so everyone can try out the next entry in Capcom’s legendary series months before its official release.

Helpfully, to help you get started hunting faster, the character you create in this beta will carry over into the full version of Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to get early access to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta

You have to Subscribe to PlayStation Plus to get early access to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta on PS5. This gives PS5 owners with a PlayStation Plus subscription three days of early beta access before opening it up to those without a PS Plus subscription, as well as Xbox Series X/S and Steam players.

Once the beta is available worldwide on all three platforms, Crossplay is enabledThis means you can play with friends no matter what platform you are on.

Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Early Access Date and Time

Early access is only available to those who have subscribed to PlayStation Plus on PS5. If this applies to you, the Monster Hunter Wilds beta Early access begins Tuesday, October 29th at 3am (GMT) / Monday, October 28th at 8pm (PT).. The Early Access period lasts three days, but you can continue playing for a total of seven days once the beta is available on all platforms worldwide.

The beta ends for all players on Monday, November 4th at 2:59 a.m. (GMT) / Sunday, November 3rd at 6:59 p.m. (PT).

For PS5 owners who don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription and those playing on Xbox Series X and Steam, there’s the Monster Hunter Wilds beta Starts Friday, November 1st at 3am (GMT) / Thursday, October 31st at 8pm (PT).

The beta ends for all players on Monday, November 4th at 2:59 a.m. (GMT) / Sunday, November 3rd at 6:59 p.m. (PT).

Everything else we know about the Monster Hunter Wilds beta

Here’s a quick list of everything else we know about the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds beta:

  • Cross play – Crossplay is available between all PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam PC players.
  • Character creation – Your character creation data will carry over to the full version (including Palico), and you can recreate your character as many times as you like.
  • Bonuses – For character creation in the beta, you will receive a special trailer and bonus item pack in the full game. The bonus pack contains x10 Mega Potions, x5 Rations, x5 Life Powder, x2 Max Potions, x2 Herbal Medicine, x2 Nulberry and x5 Armor Orb
  • Bonus beta pendant hanging from a sword in Monster Hunter Wilds.

  • Story process – You can experience the opening sequence and play through the Chatacabra hunt.
  • Doshaguma hunting – Hunt the Doshaguma while exploring the area with your Seikret and switch between two weapon types on the fly.
