Indie 102.3 celebrates Public Radio Music Day

Indie 102.3 and Colorado Public Radio are proud to be part of the public radio community. Public radio stations like ours enable music discovery for otherwise marginalized artists that you won’t find on commercial radio. Stations like Indie 102.3 may be small in number but have a huge impact. We offer a platform to artists who are normally ignored and left to fend for themselves.

Because of the important role public radio plays in music discovery and local artists, Congress passed a resolution last year to establish Public Radio Music Day. Furthermore, the US Senate voted unanimously in favor of it.

Music on public radio like Indie 102.3 serves and connects communities across the United States like nothing else. The music on Indie 102.3 is locally curated and hosted. We are independent, serve the communities we broadcast to, and are supported by listeners.

Public Radio Music Day is a national celebration that brings together public radio music broadcasters, fans, artists and music industry members to recognize and promote the important role of non-commercial stations like Indie 1023 in the music world locally and nationally.

This year’s theme – Bringing People Together: Coast to Coast – not only builds on the momentum of spreading awareness of your impact to American audiences across the country, but also provides broadcasters the opportunity to highlight how music brings communities together through music discovery, music education and support of the local arts economy.

Without your support we couldn’t do what we do. Become a member of Colorado Public Radio.
