Two teenage repeat offenders were arrested in Charlotte after threatening girls and live-streaming a gun on social media, authorities announced Oct. 23. The suspects, whose identities are not being released due to their age, were arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Juvenile Accountability and Diversion Empowerment (JADE) team.

In mid-September, a 16-year-old is said to have threatened to kill two girls. Just two days later, a 17-year-old was seen displaying a gun during a livestream on social media. Police quickly located the suspects, executed a search warrant at their location and recovered two stolen firearms before taking the teens into custody.

Although no specific charges were announced, police stressed that the JADE team aims to support youth and their families to prevent future crimes while ensuring their actions are held accountable.
