The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta date is set for next weekend

Capcom has finally announced the open beta test date for the highly anticipated action game Monster Hunter Wilds alongside a new trailer. The open beta test runs from October 31st to November 3rd on Steam PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Oh, really, from Halloween onwards? Sorry kids, I have monsters to hunt!

Beta begins at 8:00 p.m. Pacific/11:00 p.m. Eastern.

PlayStation Plus subscribers get a nice bonus: a head start on the open beta, which begins on October 28th.

The open beta test includes three components: the character creator, a story test and a free-roaming Doshaguma hunt.

The character creator contains the complete tool of the full version of the game and all characters created are saved and transferred to the full version.

The Story Trial includes the game’s opening cinematic and starter tutorials, as well as a Chatacabra hunt. The free-roam adventure allows players to explore the Windward Plains in search of Alpha Doshaguma. Both hunts can be played alone or with up to four players.

The new trailer introduces a new region, the Oilwell Basin, and the Rompopolo monster. Rompopolo is at home in the bubbling oil field, spewing toxic gas and causing explosions.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with Standard ($69.99), Deluxe ($89.99) and Premium Deluxe ($109.99) editions.

The Deluxe Edition contains cosmetic DLC packs. The Premium Deluxe Edition also includes post-launch DLC coming later in 2025.

Monster Hunter Wilds is rated T for Teen.
