Memphis father speaks out after his son was killed in a mass shooting at a Halloween party

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A Memphis father is mourning the loss of his son, who was killed during a Halloween party in Indiana that led to a fatal shooting.

Willie Ivy III died over the weekend at just 17 years old. Ten others were also injured in the shooting.

Willie attended North Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and played on the football team.

His father, Willie Ivy Jr., is a business owner in Memphis.

He traveled to Fort Wayne on Wednesday and spoke about his son’s tragic death.

“That’s hard, that’s very hard, that’s very hard because he was literally supposed to be with me in Memphis, Tennessee, that’s very, very hard for me,” Ivy said.

Ivy said his son spoke to him on the phone before he left for the party and both father and son said, “I love you.”

The police are still looking for a suspect.
