NEW TOWN – New Town Head Start students now have access to a new STEM center through a partnership between Chord Energy, Devon Energy and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, according to a news release from the foundation.

This space provides young learners with practical resources to enhance their understanding of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Kelly Bradfield, Director of New Town Head Start, emphasizes the value of these STEM Center installations to the New Town community.

“This STEM center is a tremendous opportunity for our students” Bradfield said in the press release. “It encourages exploration and critical thinking, which are critical to their future success. We are grateful to have great partners who believe in investing in the future generation.”

The STEM Center features advanced learning tools such as 3D printers and Sphero Indis to engage students in interactive problem-solving activities that prepare them for future challenges.

Steve Salem, president and CEO of the Ripken Foundation, said the organization believes in the importance of a fun, hands-on learning environment.

“We are pleased to support New Town Head Start with this innovative space” Salem said. “An early introduction to STEM education will offer students additional opportunities in the future. We’re excited to see what awaits them.”
