Kanokwan is a passionate advocate of SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being – and believes that “good health cannot be bought with money”. Her diligent administrative work ensures the smooth running of the office and allows colleagues to remain focused on delivering effective programs. For Kanokwan, back-office functions are the hidden foundation on which teamwork and productivity thrive.

Ali Saeed: The strategic enabler of procurement

Ali Saeed, Head of Purchasing and Administration, sees his role as a privilege. “Procurement is a critical factor in achieving the United Nations’ strategic objectives,” he explains. His favorite SDG is SDG 5 – Gender Equality, a reflection of his commitment to empowering women in leadership positions. With 60-70% of UNDP operations based on effective procurement, Ali’s work is an example of how well-managed processes support sustainable development efforts.

Tanapat ‘Mod’ Nithaaksorn: The Protocol Navigator

As an administrative officer specializing in protocols, Mod facilitates critical processes for UNDP staff. “My job allows me to meet people from different cultures and help them navigate legal needs,” he shares. A strong supporter of SDG 5 – Gender Equality Mod highlights the importance of equality within and outside the UN system. Varaluck: The Financial Manager

As a Finance Associate, Varaluck offers important financial advice to project teams. “I offer practical advice on overcoming financial, accounting and reporting challenges,” she says. For Varaluck, SDG 1 – No Poverty – has special meaning. She believes that ending poverty is the first step toward solving broader social challenges. Their work behind the scenes strengthens accountability and transparency and ensures UNDP achieves its development goals.

Nichanun: The human touch in human resources

Nichanun, affectionately known as June, acts as an HR assistant and provides emotional support to colleagues. “When you are there and listen, employees feel less isolated,” she explains.
