We are celebrating a new fire station – a first for our campus

The new station accommodates the regular fire crew of nine personnel per 24-hour shift and includes three drive-through fire engine bays, administrative offices, a kitchen and dining area, a recreation room, a reception/guard room, a training room, a washroom, and a training room and crew quarters.

All of the San Diego Fire Department’s new fire stations are designed to accommodate two crews of four firefighters each. In this case, Station 52 will be the headquarters of Battalion 5 and will house a battalion chief, i.e.

“I am pleased to celebrate the completion of this world-class facility with San Diego’s first electric fire truck and rapid charger,” said San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria. “Thanks to our partnership with UC San Diego, we are delivering on our promise to improve fire protection and life safety coverage across San Diego.”
