PlayStation is quietly releasing a new PS5 system update that you can download now – Playstation

Modern consoles constantly receive system updates to optimize various aspects of technology. They’re coming through the pipeline thick and fast.

This week Sony released a new system update for the PlayStation 5, which is now available for download.

PlayStation will soon be hosting a concert to celebrate the epic music of their games.

Functionally, it’s not a major update, although the file weighs over 1.3 GB.

Of course, there are the usual console stability and performance improvements that we get every time.

It also mentions that “messages and usability have been improved on some screens.”

However, the headline of the patch is a change to the activity cards you see on your dashboard.

“Activities will now appear as In Progress, Not Started, or Completed, depending on whether you ever started or completed the activity.”

As always, these cards still hide spoilers.

It’s a nice new feature that will allow you to better track the activities you accomplish in the game if you log them this way.

While this feature may not be used by most as there are many ways to track in-game tasks in games these days, the cards can serve as a reminder of things you want to do before playing.

That’s all for this new PlayStation 5 update, but there’s more coming soon.

PlayStation is currently in the mood for remasters and remakes with the recent release of Until dawnthat remade the original.

We are also close to it Horizon Zero Dawn Remasteredto.

Of course, you’ll benefit greatly from these games if you’re using a PlayStation 5 Pro console, as it will really bring out the little details and improvements.

Of course, this wave of remasters has sparked interesting conversations about what fans want next. I’d like to see Sony dig further into their catalog for some retro PS2 classics.
