United launches largest winter schedule ever with a focus on Africa, Southern Europe and Latin America, as well as ski and sun destinations in the US

United will operate nearly 4,600 flights per day during the winter peak season, adding flights to more than 140 U.S. airports and opening service to four new international destinations

United is expecting its busiest winter season ever with growing international demand

United’s winter schedule officially begins October 24 with the addition of nonstop service to Marrakech. Morocco

CHICAGO, Oct 24, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — After a record-breaking summer season with nearly 48 million passengers traveling on United, today the airline is making it even easier for customers to continue their adventures even in cooler temperatures.

United is flying its largest winter schedule in company history*, averaging nearly 4,600 flights per day during peak season. The airline will add flights to more than 140 U.S. airports, including new flights to some of the most popular ski and sun destinations.

The airline is predicting its busiest winter season ever and is seeing growing demand for international travel Latin America and across the Atlantic.

The winter schedule begins with United’s first flight Newark/New York and Marrakesh, starting October 24th. From October 27th, the airline will be the only one US Airline flies to Cebu, Philippineswith service from Tokyo/Narita. Later this winter, United will also add nonstop service Medellin, Colombia out of Houston and to Dominica out of Newark/New York.

Historic expansion in Africa

United will have the largest network in Africa in its history this winter and will be the only airline to connect the directly US and Marrakech with new thrice weekly service from Newark/New YorkDeparture on October 24th on a Boeing 767-300ER. Combined with United’s recently announced service from Washington Dulles Dakar, Senegal**With launch in May 2025, United will fly to additional destinations in China Africa than everyone else US Carrier.

The new service complements expanded weekly flights from Washington D.C To Accra, Ghana from October and Lagos, Nigeria from December.

More time to explore the south Europe

After a record increase in summer travel EuropeUnited will expand service to iconic European destinations including Greece, Spain, ItalyAnd Portugal this winter with the most seats offered during the winter peak compared to the same periods in 2023 and 2024.

United will also expand several seasonal routes into the fall and winter months, including nonstop service to Milan And Rome from Chicago O’Hare and Madrid from Washington Dulles now through December 2024 and daily flights in between Washington/Dulles and Lisbonnow extended until January 2025.

Game-changing connections in the Pacific

From October 27th, United will be the only one US Airline flies daily to Cebu, Philippines with 737-800 aircraft Tokyo/Naritawhich enables easy connections from a single source US Customers from five hubs in the Continental region US

This winter, United will offer its second daily service between San Francisco and Seoul-Incheon all year round. United will also add a second daily flight in between Los Angeles And Hong Kongwhich offers both morning and evening flights and connections.

The airline is also increasing flights between them Los Angeles And Shanghai with daily flights starting October 26 with a Boeing 787-9.

Double-digit growth in Latin America

United continues its growth Latin America as the airline approximately expects 10% bigger this winter compared to last year. On November 13th, United will expand its presence in Colombia with new year-round service Medellin out of Houston** and supplements the airline’s existing routes Bogota out of Newark/New York And Houston. Starting February 15, United will be the only airline connecting the United States Northeastern USA To Dominica**with weekly non-stop service on a Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

United is expanding its offering Latin America Offers from San Francisco with new, year-round flights Monterrey, Mexicooperated by United Express partner SkyWest up to twice daily and with new seasonal, weekly service Belize City, Belize.

In the CaribbeanUnited begins its service from Newark/New York To Saint Kitts early, with weekly nonstop flights starting in November on a Boeing 737-900ER. The airline will extend service between Newark/New York And Bermuda into the winter season, making the route available all year round, and will provide daily service in between Newark/New York And Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago for the main holiday and carnival periods.

United plans further expansions of Chicago, Houston, Washington, D.CAnd Los Angeles to cities like Buenos Aires, Argentina; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Morelia, Mexico; San Juan, Puerto Rico; And San Salvador, El Salvador.

Domestic growth from coast to coast

United’s January-March domestic schedule will be its largest ever, with nearly 140 airports offering more flights than the same time last year.

During the winter season US On average, travelers have more options heading west 13% More seating to warm weather destinations, including Phoenix, AZ; Palm Springs And San Diego, California.

The airline will introduce a new non-stop service between them Washington/Dulles and Salt Lake City And Palm Springs on December 19th.

United continues its growth Florida this year with 20 additional departures from its hub airports to cities such as Fort Lauderdale, OrlandoAnd Palm beach. The airline will also bring back its popular non-stop service from Cleveland To Cancun and several Florida Destinations including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa And Fort Myers.

United is the leader in ski resorts this winter

United continues to provide more service to top ski markets than any other provider US Airline with nearly three times the average daily flights of other airlines and nonstop service to 11 ski markets in 2024.

This winter the airline will introduce larger Embraer E-175 aircraft operated by SkyWest** Aspen, CO and Bishop/Mammoth, California, offering more premium seats on these select ski routes and increasing the number of flights between United hub airports and destinations including:

  • New seasonal weekend service in winter between Washington/Dulles and Bozeman, MT and an additional flight in between Newark/New York And Bozeman, MT.
  • New seasonal weekend service between Chicago And Gunnison/Crested Butte, CO in February and March.
  • New seasonal winter service between Los Angeles And Kalispell, MT from February.
  • A second daily flight in between Newark/New York And Jackson Hole, Wyoming from December to March.
  • During the peak holiday period from December to January there is a daily flight between Los Angeles And Montrose/Telluride, CO
  • Twice daily service Sun Valley, ID from both Los Angeles And San Francisco during the main holiday season.
  • A seasonal extension of Denver-Bishop/Mammoth service with twice weekly flights until the end of April.
