Men’s tennis opens the fall schedule at the Bedford Cup

FORT MYERS, Fla. – After a change of plans at the ITA Regionals Oct. 10-15, Florida Gulf Coast University men’s tennis will begin its fall with the Bedford Cup in Gainesville, Fla., Oct. 25-27.

FGCU will travel to Gainesville with eight people for the competition. This will be a good first test for the Eagles to gauge the team’s capabilities heading into the spring roster.

The Bedford Cup is an annual fall competition involving college teams from all over Florida. Last year it was hosted by UCF in Orlando. The Eagles dominated the Double B draw, winning every game against a different school. The only loss came when FGCU doubled its teams Philipp Bosse And Harry Michalowski competed against it Eric Oncins and Mike Bunjes.

In the singles draw, bosses and Hugo Magnusson Both achieved victories in the A draw and Oncins made it to the final in the consolation round of the B draw.

Following this competition, FGCU returns to Southwest Florida for the Bonita Bay Classic.
