The SEC’s first Student-Athlete Availability Report was released Wednesday ahead of the start of Week 9.

Auburn football has four players with season-ending injuries and only one other player listed on the report. The initial report says wide receiver Caleb Burton is listed as doubtful for Auburn’s game at Kentucky this Saturday. Burton has played in three games for the Tigers this season, recording two catches for 49 yards. The cause of his injury is currently unknown.

LB Jamonta Waller, DBs Tyler Scott and Champ Anthony, and tight end Brandon Frazier are ruled out for Saturday’s game.

Another player to keep an eye on this week is kicker Alex McPherson. He has been removed from the availability report but has not played yet this season. Head coach Hugh Freeze hinted during his weekly press conference that McPherson could get a chance to kick this weekend.

“If we have another chance inside the 35-yard range, we will give Alex (McPherson) that shot,” Freeze said Monday. “He told me he felt like he could do it, so we’re close to thinking about it.” That. We’ll see how the week goes. Again, we’re excited about Towns (McGough) and his future and his talent, but we have to get it done. These are crucial moments that keep our momentum going and make us feel good and like we can find ways to win the game. But he (Alex) felt he could have participated if we had that situation again on Saturday.”

Kentucky’s injury concerns will impact this weekend’s game as seven players are ruled out, three players are listed as “questionable,” five are listed as “probable” and one player is listed as “doubtful.”

The player listed as doubtful early on for Kentucky is leading rusher Demie Sumo-Karngbaye, who ran for 419 yards on 92 carries and four touchdowns.

The next SEC Student-Athlete Availability Report will be released Thursday at 7:00 p.m. CT. The final report will be unveiled 90 minutes before Auburn’s game at Kentucky, which is scheduled to kick off at 6:45 p.m. CT on Saturday.
