2024 World Rugby Awards: Voting bodies and date confirmed: Planet Rugby

World Rugby has confirmed that the 2024 World Rugby Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 24 November.

The governing body also announced the 14 award categories that will be presented on the night, recognizing the sport’s most outstanding figures, as well as the voting panels that will decide the nominees and winners.

The legendary Salle des Étoiles will host the event in Monaco.

2024 World Rugby Awards

The star-studded evening is under the patronage of HRH Princess Charlène of Monaco and coincides with the end of the international rugby season.

This year’s edition also marks the fourth time that Monaco has hosted the World Rugby Awards, cementing the principality’s position as the home of rugby’s biggest awards.

A total of 14 award categories will be awarded on this evening, honoring achievements on the field during the calendar year.

Nominees in each category are chosen by expert panels including rugby legends and members of the World Rugby Hall of Fame.

World Rugby Men’s 15s Breakthrough Player of the Year

Criteria: Open to all men’s 15 year olds who have played no more than a year of international rugby. Voting is based on performance in international test matches. Club rugby is not recognized.

World Rugby Referee Award

Voting body: Fifteens Referee Selection Panel and Sevens Referee Selection Panel.

Criteria: The Referee Award recognizes retired referees who have made a strong contribution to the game of rugby both on and off the field.
