Nagaland Lottery Sambad (October 24, 2024): Conducting and playing lottery games is completely banned in all other states of India except 13 states where these activities are permitted. Lottery games and operations have been permitted in 13 Indian states, including Nagaland, since 1967. These twelve states are Assam, Mizoram, Kerala, Meghalaya, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal and Sikkim.

Under the direction of the Ministry of Finance, the Nagaland State Lotteries was established in 1972 with the aim of providing a stable source of revenue to the state government. The Nagaland State Lottery is held on all seven days of the week in the morning, day and evening. Each day a different lottery name and prize amount will be used, with the top prize being worth Rs 1 Crore (including the Super Prize amount). Dear Morning, Dear Day and Dear Evening are three of Nagaland State’s daily lotteries; Tickets cost 6 rupees each.

The Director of Nagaland State Lotteries is responsible for monitoring and scheduling the lotteries held daily at PR Hill Junction, Kohima, 797001. If you are one of the lucky winners, you must:

  • Provide a copy of the lottery application form with your ticket.
  • The ticket must be undamaged and in its original condition.
  • An official photo ID and passport photos must be attached to the application form.
  • Tampered or damaged tickets will not be accepted.

The State Government grants permission to the dealer to pay a prize of up to ₹10,000 (ten thousand rupees) to the winners of any dealer, dealer, agent or seller on behalf of the State Government. Within thirty (30) days of the draw date, all claims exceeding Rs. 10,000 must be submitted to the Director, Government of Nagaland or Nodal Office in the respective state. To receive payment within sixty (60) days, the original winning ticket duly signed by the winner and other documents must be submitted along with the claim forms in the prescribed format.
