Shelton Benjamin Teases AEW Dream Match

Recent AEW signee Shelton Benjamin is already looking ahead to the competition and has hinted at a big match that fans would like to see.

The former WWE star has now fought two matches on Dynamite, defeating Lio Rush and Sammy Guevara. With impressive performances on both counts, Benjamin looks just as good in the ring as he did 20 years ago and is still capable of keeping up with AEW’s fast-paced younger stars. Although both games were well received by fans, Benjamin has another name in mind.

Like many stars who have recently joined the company, Will Ospreay has emerged as a dream opponent. When appearing on Gabby AF, Benjamin stated that he was excited about the prospect of a match against the former international champion:

“For me, Will Ospreay is the name that excites me the most about AEW. That’s the only guy that I’m like, “I want to know what we can do together,” because I think it’s not even about winning or losing, I just think my style is very entertaining compared to his style were. So that’s the name that excites me above all others in the industry right now.”

Benjamin will face Swerve Strickland on October 30th at Dynamite.

With over two decades of experience, star power and outstanding in-ring skills, it’s no surprise that multiple promotions were interested in Benjamin when he became a free agent. Shelton Benjamin also admitted in the interview that there were other offers and why he ultimately chose All-Elite status.
