Injury to a child is being investigated by Temple Police

Temple police are currently investigating the injury to a child.

On Wednesday around 11 p.m., officers were dispatched to Baylor Scott and White McLane Children’s Specialty Clinic regarding a concern for a three-month-old child.

After officers arrived and began questioning, they learned that the child had been dropped off at Ignite Learning Academy daycare around 4 p.m. that morning; The child showed unusual lethargy.

EMS was contacted and the decision was made to transport the child for medical attention.

Officials and child protection services are working closely together on this case.

At that time, Jasmine Collum, 24, a teacher at Ignite Learning Academy, was arrested for injury to a child.

This case is currently under investigation.
