A woman’s blind date took a terrible turn after he made a shocking confession to crime

A woman who was introduced to a potential love interest by her brother is said to have discovered through a phone call that he was a wanted criminal who had lied to her about his name and his actions.

Following the recent arrest of Kyle Coolack — a man who authorities say shot and killed his brother in 2022 — Idaho native Jeney Voyek has clarified that she was only with the reported wanted person for a short time.

Speaking to KCCI, the woman said she originally filed a complaint with Coolack after her brother “took him in.”

“My brother saw him on the side of the road, a veteran looking for help,” Voyek explained. “So Eddie took him in.”

According to the woman, her sibling was just “trying to help” the man get back on his feet by letting him live in his Pomeroy home and giving him a job.

“He’s so charismatic and so charming and can tell you the right things you want to hear,” Voyek said after meeting Coolack.

But just a few days after their date, the man dropped the act and revealed his true identity in an alleged phone conversation.

“He just became angry and crazy and told me point-blank that he had murdered his brother two years ago,” she recalled, claiming Coolak was drunk at the time.

When Voyek discovered Coolack’s alleged crime, she called her brother, who later confronted the reported perpetrator.

After claiming to have heard the same confession, the man “kicked him out of the house” and contacted authorities.

According to the outlet, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office managed to locate, arrest and identify Coolack – who told Voyek and her brother his name was “James” – last weekend (October 20).

It is understood police arrested the man as he walked south on State Highway 4.

“There was a sense of closure in this case following his arrest,” said Sgt. Cullen Duncan of the Houston Police Department, according to the outlet.

“I believed it was only a matter of time before he was arrested.”

After her date’s incarceration in the Carroll County Jail, Voyek thought about the potentially dangerous situation she could have found herself in.

“Would he have hit me? “Would he have tried anything on me and essentially killed me?” Voyek asked. “And sometimes I wonder if it could have gone there.”

“I’m just happy to help them bring closure and give them peace of mind that Kyle is locked up now and no one else is in danger.”

The terrified woman has also warned others to be “careful” about who they talk to and to think twice before letting a complete stranger into their family home.

Coolack is scheduled to be extradited to Houston, where he will stand trial in March 2022 for his brother’s murder.
