Samsung’s pocket-friendly Fan Edition Galaxy Watch is now even cheaper

Samsung’s pocket-friendly Fan Edition Galaxy Watch is now even cheaper

Samsung Galaxy Watch FE

$164 $200 Save $36

The Galaxy Watch FE brings Samsung’s popular fan edition variant to its smartwatch range for the first time, offering a hardware package that focuses on the essentials to reduce unnecessary costs. The result is a stylish watch that looks like the Galaxy Watch 6 for two-thirds of the asking price.

Samsung is one of the major players in the large smartwatch market, and although the company faces stiff competition from the likes of Google, Apple and, surprisingly, even OnePlus’ new watches, the South Korean tech giant’s wearables are finding a way to hold their own. The 2024 flagship wearable portfolio, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, while great on paper, stood out from the rest of the market because they were the first Wear OS 5 wearables. But those weren’t the only wearables the tech giant released this year.

Released in June, the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE (Bluetooth) is a pocket-friendly alternative to the tech giant’s flagship wearables, proving that you don’t need to spend more than $200 to get a quality wearable built into the Android ecosystem fits. The wearable is currently 18 percent off at Amazon, bringing the price down from $200 to $165.

That’s why we think this Galaxy Watch FE deal is worth considering

The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE shows its quick settings panel.

The Galaxy Watch FE is essentially a reskin of the Galaxy Watch 4 released in 2021, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. At the time, we gave the Watch 4 a solid 8.5/10 rating – although times have changed. What was first class back then may no longer be considered innovative today. However, Samsung is guaranteeing longer support for the Watch FE, and at a cheaper price compared to the brand’s other wearables released in 2024, the watch may be a no-brainer for someone interested in reliability at an affordable price tag with the latest bells and whistles .

The Watch FE is also better than the Watch 4 in some aspects. The display is covered with sapphire crystal for additional scratch resistance, whereas the Watch 4’s display was only glass, although it was protected by Gorilla Glass DX+. Additionally, the Watch FE features a skin temperature sensor, which wasn’t present on the original Watch 4. The Watch FE launched with the Wear OS 4-based One UI Watch 5, but will eventually receive Wear OS 5, making it future-proof for its time ahead.

It’s worth noting that only the Black Watch FE color variant is currently discounted, while the Rose Gold and Silver options are still listed at full price.
