ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A streak of unseasonably warm weather continues today. Atlanta is expected to break a high temperature record set 84 years ago.

With mostly clear skies, temperatures will bottom in the upper 50s and lower 60s in the Atlanta metro area early this morning. It will be coolest before 8:30 am. Patchy areas of fog are possible until 9:00 a.m. Sunshine will push temperatures above 70° by mid-morning. Even mountain communities are approaching 80 degrees this afternoon. As the evening progresses we will cool back down into the 70s and eventually 60s. The weather will be nice for outdoor plans on Friday evening. Go out and enjoy it.

The warm weather will continue into Saturday. In fact, we are approaching another record high temperature; 85°, last in 2010. There will be a few clouds until Saturday afternoon.

Cooler weather is finally returning…

A “cold front” will move through northern Georgia on Saturday evening. Cooler air moves in on Saturday evening and the front begins on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to peak in the mid to upper 70s Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. More clouds, patchy showers and a northerly breeze are forecast for Sunday. Most will miss out on the rain they need. Plan on only 10-20% rainfall during the day.
