House is considered a total loss after Galax fire

It was not announced whether there were any injuries

GALAX, Va. – According to the Galax fire department, a 3,000 square meter house was destroyed in a fire in Galax on Thursday.

At approximately 6 p.m., crews were called to the 19000 block of Blue Ridge Parkway and arrived to find a two-story home engulfed in flames and all residents already outside.

According to authorities, it took two hours for the fire to be contained. Six fire departments, 17 emergency services and almost 50 firefighters were on duty.

Unfortunately the house was a total loss. There is no information available as to whether there were any injuries as a result of the fire.

“Please pray for the family,” the fire department said.
