Here’s how to watch Notre Dame football vs. Navy in Week 9

Here’s how to watch Notre Dame football vs. Navy in Week 9

When Notre Dame and Navy meet for their annual rivalry game, intrigue isn’t always guaranteed. Often times there is a bust, like when the Fighting Irish beat the Midshipmen 42-3 last year.

This time that is not to be expected.

The No. 24 Midshipmen are 6-0 for the first time since 1979, and the No. 12 Irish (6-1) are still trying to stage a complete comeback after a shocking 16-14 home loss to Northern Illinois in Week 2.

Here’s everything you need to know about this weekend’s matchup.

Note on Notre Dame: Notre Dame once again boasts one of the best passing efficiency defenses in the country. The Fighting Irish are ranked sixth in this category after finishing first in 2023. The offense is still being worked on, but it’s getting better all the time. Even if it doesn’t go at the desired level, quarterback Riley Leonard and traffic jams Jeremiyah love And Jadarian Prize are three of the most efficient runners in the game, all averaging between 6.0 and 6.7 yards per carry. Look for them to have a great afternoon in New Jersey.

Marine Note: The Navy is the nation’s second-largest offensive efficiency offense. Junior Blake Horvath was so good at getting the ball to his pass catchers. As always, the Midshipmen love running the ball. They average 274.83 rushing yards per game, which is the fourth-best total in the country. However, their defense isn’t the best, ranking 92nd in yards allowed per game. Navy is also only 85th in time of possession, so it could be a back-and-forth and more offensive game between Notre Dame and Navy than act normally.
