The newly released HP OMEN 35L RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC is on sale at Best Buy

This PC features an AMD Ryzen 7 8700G CPU, RTX 4080 Super GPU, 32GB DDR5 RAM and 2TB SSD. The AMD Ryzen 7 8700G is one of the latest Zen4 processors and has a maximum boost clock of 5.1 GHz with 8 cores, 16 threads and a 16 MB cache. Cooling is provided by a 120mm tower heatsink fan, which should be more than sufficient as the 8700G is a highly energy efficient low voltage chip. This is a very powerful processor that performs excellently in both gaming and workstation tasks and is one of the first processors to feature Ryzen AI.

The new GeForce RTX 4080 Super gives you more than enough power to handle any game in 4K at high frame rates, even at maximum settings and ray tracing enabled. Thanks to the higher base clock speed, higher CUDA core count and higher memory bandwidth, performance is 5-10% faster than the RTX 4080. It goes head to head with AMD’s most powerful GPU, the Radeon RX 7900. Jacqueline writes in our RTX 4080 Super test Thomas: “If you’re looking for a 4K graphics card for around $1,000, it’s hard to imagine a GPU that would be a better buy right now. This is the RTX 4080 that should have been released in 2011 and 2022.”

What’s new with the Omen 35L?

HP touts the Omen 35 as its “first gaming desktop built with Omen components.” This essentially means that many of the parts that were originally sourced elsewhere are now developed by HP itself. This includes the power supplies, the case fans and the cooling systems. The OMEN 35L itself is a good-looking mid-tower case with a sensible airflow design; Two large 140mm fans bring air in from the front and a 120mm fan at the back exhausts it towards the back. Some of the higher-end models also come with a 240mm liquid cooler that exhausts air upwards. Overall, it looks like a promising redesign that puts cooling and usability at the forefront.
