A fight between two brothers at a Northeast Side apartment complex has left one of them in the hospital and another in handcuffs.

The shooting happened around 11 a.m. Friday at The Artisan at Salado Creek in the 3600 block of Binz Engleman Road, not far from Interstate 35.

A sergeant on scene said the brothers, ages 17 and 31, got into an argument over clothing in their apartment unit.

According to police, at some point the 17-year-old shot his brother twice in the lower extremities. The 31-year-old was taken to hospital and is expected to be fine.

The teen was taken into custody without incident. No charges will be filed against him, but police believe he could face serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon charge depending on the outcome of their investigation.

Two other people were in the apartment at the time of the shooting but are not currently considered suspects.
