Wondering why Taylor has been wearing so much plaid lately? Fans believe it’s related to the Eras Tour’s Lover House – and the Easter egg was right under our noses the whole time.

Swifties, we have an Easter egg emergency… Remember when Taylor Swift suddenly started wearing plaid outfits and none of us could figure out why? Was it a reference to “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)”? Was it a big joke for TS12? Is she just enjoying the beautiful autumnal check era?

What if we told you? could be an Easter egg for “Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version)”? Fans on social media just discovered a giant plaid Easter egg that no one has noticed yet. And it seems to have been hidden since the beginning of the Eras Tour.

“Rep (TV)” and “Taylor Swift (TV)” — also known as “Debut (TV)” — are the only two new recordings Taylor has yet to release. For years, fans assumed that Rep (TV) would come out before Debut (TV), but now theories are starting to change.

So what’s the big Easter egg that got everyone in the mood: “Debut (TV) is coming!” Spiral? It has everything to do with The Eras Tour’s Lover House.

Why does Taylor Swift wear so much plaid?

Earlier this week, SwiftTok member @nikkiking23 shared a video about Taylor’s plaid era and shared a detail no one had mentioned yet.

“I was looking at the Lover house for a different reason and I noticed something, do you see it?” she asked before pulling up a screenshot of the green room from the ‘Lover’ music video. “Look at the background image, they changed it for the tour visuals… And they changed it to diamonds.”

“All this time she’s been standing and singing in front of this lover’s house with this checkered wall, and now she’s wearing all this plaid.”

Nikki notes that while the fan base is divided on the theory behind the plaid, there are also strong references to the “TTPD” and “Reputation” era (the OG “Rep” era was FULL of plaid and tartans ), but that can’t just be a coincidence.

The detail has now gained traction on !! !!!”

Another user who quoted tweeted the viral tweet and added: “I always wonder if it drives Taylor crazy to just sit back and impatiently wait for us to figure out the easiest Easter eggs like this because HOW HAVE HAVE I NEVER SEEN THAT MENTIONED BEFORE?”

And yes, dear reader, the checkered room has actually been around since the opening night of the Eras Tour. It’s also likely to be found in all the pictures and videos from your Eras Tour. I just sit there and wait for everyone to notice.

Over the past few months, Taylor has been creating some incredible plaid/tartan looks while out and about on red carpets and at Kansas City Chiefs games. However, many of them seem to indicate “Rep (TV)” rather than “Debut (TV)”.

At VMAS 2024, she wowed in a yellow tartan dress from Dior’s Cruise 2025 collection shouted “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” vibe.

But what does it all mean? Does “Rep (TV)” come first or should we prepare for “Debut (TV)”? Are they coming at the same time?! Could it just be a hint that Taylor is currently in the process of re-recording her debut album? Or are we all completely wrong…again?!
