Trump says no to another debate with Harris

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) — The race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is tight as they vie for the White House. Harris is pushing for another debate against Trump, but Trump continues to reject the idea.

“We have a little thing called an election coming up, and we are going to win this election,” Trump said.

Trump is focused on increasing his support through border security and illegal immigration.

“A vote for Kamala Harris means 40 or 50 million more illegal immigrants will come across our borders,” Trump said.

Trump is doubling down on his position in anticipation of another debate.

“The problem with another debate is that it is simply too late. Voting has already begun,” Trump said.

Harris says there’s always time for debate.

“Come onto the debate stage with me. Let’s discuss again. There is more to discuss, and American voters deserve to hear about it,” Harris said.

Harris raised $27 million at a fundraiser in New York over the weekend. She says it shows they are gaining momentum.

“It shows there is a lot of support for our message and what we need to do,” Harris said.

During an event honoring women’s soccer champions at the White House, President Joe Biden gave a nod to Harris.

“A woman can do anything a man can do. Any man can do it, even if he is president of the United States,” Biden said.

The vice presidential candidates will face off in a debate next Tuesday evening.

Harris will travel to Pittsburgh later this week as Trump continues his campaign in North Carolina.
