Jimmy The Punt Sunday Tips: 12/1 Emirates Bore Draw in the Premier League

Jimmy returns Arsenal’s goals against Liverpool

Football… Bettors only. Watch the latest episode now.

Keep it simple at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace finished last season with a flurry of points. The Eagles picked up 19 of the last 21 offers. It got a lot of people wondering about their prospects for the season under Oliver Glasner, but it didn’t work out. They began the season with a whimper as one of only four teams to go winless after picking up just three points in eight games.

Perhaps the importance of Michael Olise to both Eberchi Eze as an individual and Palace as a collective has been underestimated. The winger moved to Bayern Munich in the summer and neither Eze nor the Eagles have been the same since.

It doesn’t help that Jean-Philippe Mateta, who has scored 13 goals in his last 11 appearances, has not been able to continue his strong form this season.

So, a few chances are Tottenham looks like a great prize in the 1×2.

Spurs blew a two-goal lead at Brighton earlier this month, but that is the only blemish on an otherwise flawless eight-game run.

Arsenal host Liverpool in the main game of Super Sunday and I reiterate last weekend’s stance against the Reds and believe there is a lack of goals.

It’s never easy to play with Unders and when there was no first goalscorer at Anfield last Sunday, it took just 29 minutes for Mohamed Salah to duly convert his penalty and nullify the selection. Undeterred, I think it’s worth another visit this weekend.

Well, it’s a bit of stubbornness, but mostly because of Liverpool’s opponents; Arsenal.

They were the best defensive team in the Premier League last season and although Mikel Arteta’s side have already conceded eight goals this season, they have kept a clean sheet in half of their home games.

The Gunners beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 in the Champions League in midweek, but at what cost? Riccardo Calafiori has been forced off and will undoubtedly not be fit to start as he joins Jurriƫn Timber. There is something of a defensive crisis behind it for the North Londoners, who will also be without the suspended William Saliba and the injured Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney.

I’m not sure who will start in Arsenal’s defense on Sunday, but I think given the circumstances, Arteta would take a point if he were offered one now.

Then consider the opposition. Liverpool have been the best defensive unit this season. Nine goals conceded in 13 games in all competitions. Everything points to Unders, and while neither experienced a stalemate, I think the writing is on the wall here.
