An elderly man is killed in a fire at a mobile home in Ascension Parish, according to LSFM

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after one person died in a mobile home fire in Ascension Parish on Friday, October 25th.

According to the fire protection office, the Geismar fire department responded to a reported apartment fire in the 12000 block of Federal Highway 73 around 10:30 a.m. on Friday. When firefighters arrived on scene, officials said they discovered an older male victim inside.

The older man’s identity has not been released. According to the fire protection office, the investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is still ongoing.

According to the Fire Department, more information will be released as it becomes available.
