Georgia football continues to add more names to its injury report

Typically, you see a big improvement in the injury report during a team’s bye week. However, this was not the case with Georgian football this week.

Many players have made some progress, but unfortunately other names have also been added as new additions. Here’s a quick look at the current injury report for Georgia.

Tate Ratledge and Jordan Hall

Gerogia appears to be on the verge of getting two key players back soon, likely for next week’s game against Florida.

The first is offensive lineman Tate Ratledge, who did not play after an ankle injury he suffered during the Kentucky game. Both Ratledge and Jordan Hall were dressed and warmed up before the Texas game last week, but were held out for safety reasons. But it looks like both will be ready for Florida next week.

However, Kirby Smart discussed Hall’s injury status earlier this week, and it appears there is a chance he won’t be able to play against Florida.

“And you never know, maybe it just hit him on one rep and that kept him from taking the rep load that he would like to do,” Smart said, via 247sports.com. “But he’s out there today doing more this week than he did last week.”

The fact that Hall’s injury could flare up during a rep is concerning. Smart still mentions that he’s improved, so let’s hope that continues ahead of the big game next week.

Smael Mondon’s status is still unknown

Another key player Georgia wants to get back soon is linebacker Smael Mondon. Mondon is listed as doubtful, but he is still making noticeable progress.

“We hope to get Smael back. I can’t wait to get him back,” Smart shared. “Hopefully it will be soon. He’s out there with us right now and I don’t know when that will be.”

It’s a good sign that Mondon can no longer work with the team, but the last part of Smaet’s quote is troubling. Maybe it’s just because Smart doesn’t want to give away too many details, but it sounds like it could be a few more weeks until Mondon is back.

Running back problems

Georgia continues to find itself in a difficult situation in its running back room. Both Roderick Robinson and Branson Robinson missed the Texas game, essentially making Trevor Etienne a one-man army in the backfield. Luckily, Etienne responded well with three touchdowns, but we’d all rather not have to rely on a back.

Roderick Robinson has already been ruled out for the Florida game, but Branson Robinson is questionable. So maybe next Saturday UGA will have another back they can pair with Etienne.
