Flagler ties the PBC women’s cross country record with its seventh consecutive championship

OAKWOOD, GA – The Flagler College Saints set a Peach Belt Conference record when they won their seventh consecutive women’s cross country championship on Saturday at the University of North Georgia Cross Country Course. The Saints had the first four runners across the finish line, led by singles champion Taylor Stone, and finished the game with 19 points.

The seven straight championships come against Kennesaw State, which won seven from 1994-2000. Flagler wins its eighth women’s cross country title.

Augusta finished second with 45 points and placed three runners in the top 10. Host North Georgia was third, Georgia College & State University was fourth and Lander was fifth.

Stone is the third consecutive Saint to receive the Individual Champion honor. The senior ran the 5K course in 17:22.5, the fourth-fastest 5K ever run at the PBC Championships. Their lead of 20.9 seconds is the 12th largest in conference history.

Enola Savel of Flagler was second, Monique Whiteman was third and Abigail Misch was fourth. Franzi Martens of Flagler was the top freshman with a time of 18:21.5 and was named freshman of the year.
