The Fort Worth-based airline will use Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to operate this special inaugural flight. Additionally, this new service will strengthen the growing air transport relationship between Australia and the United States.

Brisbane Airport aims to capitalize on global interest by providing a live stream of the aircraft landing, giving aviation enthusiasts worldwide real-time access to this historic moment.

“This flight will be one of Flightradar24’s most followed services, attracting viewers eager to follow the journey from Dallas-Fort Worth to Brisbane,” explains Ian Petchenik, Director of Communications at Flightradar24.

Additionally, Petchenik attributes Brisbane’s increasing importance among aviation enthusiasts to the airport’s significant international route expansion over the year. The new service highlights Brisbane’s growing role as a major air transport hub in the Asia Pacific region.

Brisbane Airport’s diverse flight operations attract global viewers through weekly livestreams, with aviation YouTubers Julia Flights and Only Planes Network hosting the regular broadcasts.

“Our airfield features everything from A380s to Royal Flying Doctor King Airs, alongside Alliance Airlines’ world-leading Fokker fleet,” says Brisbane Airport media and communications manager Peter Doherty. The airport’s position as Australia’s main domestic hub ensures a continuous flow of specialist regional aircraft.

For American Airlines’ inaugural flight, the airport is planning strategic camera placement along runways and taxiways, promising viewers comprehensive coverage of the historic arrival.

“As airport livestreaming has grown in popularity around the world, our coverage of American Airlines Arrivals will introduce unprecedented technical elements,” reveals Doherty, pointing to innovative broadcast features designed to differentiate the Brisbane stream from standard airport coverage.

If we look at the list of the 15 longest flight routes in the world, American Airlines may not be included in the list, but it is certainly included in the top 20.

Australian cities such as Perth (PER) and Sydney (SYD) already operate some of the longest routes in the world. With American’s DFW-BNE route, Brisbane lands on the list of longest non-stop connections.
