“Disney Night brings ABC to victory”

Disney Night helped Dancing with the stars becomes the top entertainment program for adults 18-49 on October 22nd (0.72 rating), according to Nielsen.

The episode also set a new record by garnering more than 16 million viewer votes for the teams. That means more votes are being counted today than when NFL stars Hines Ward and Kym Johnson won the most-watched Season 12 of 2011, when a whopping over 22 million viewers watched the show. Voters can vote on which celebrities they want to keep via text message or via dwtsvote.abc.com.

This is the first season in DWTS‘History that it published viewer opinions.

DWTS also exceeded the previous week’s episode in viewership by 10 percent (4.85 million vs. 4.40 million) and adults ages 18 to 49 up 7 percent (0.72 rating vs. 0.67 rating). This season’s Disney Night was 24 percent higher than last year (0.72 rating vs. 0.58 rating).
