Veteran Tamil actor Delhi Ganesh has died at the age of 80

Veteran Tamil actor Delhi Ganesh died of age-related ailments in Chennai on November 9. He was 80. Maha Devan, his son, confirmed the news on social media. Ganesh began his career as an actor after a decade-long stint in the Indian Air Force from 1964 to 1974.

The last rites of Delhi Ganesh will take place on Monday, November 11, at 10 am.

His son confirmed the news of the actor’s death and wrote: “We deeply regret to announce that our father Dr. Delhi Ganesh passed away on November 9, 2024 at around 11 pm (sic).”

The veteran actor’s stage name, Delhi Ganesh, was given by filmmaker K Balachander, who gave him his first break with Pattina Pravesam in 1976.

Over the years, Delhi Ganesh appeared in over 400 films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema. Some of his most notable works include Nayakan, Michael Madhana Kama Rajan, Sindhu Bhairavi and Iruvar.
