Denver Pioneers unveil 75th anniversary hockey uniforms

The University of Denver Pioneers are the best in college hockey, having won two of the last three national championships, including last year’s. This year they will look particularly good defending that championship…

Currently the number one team in the NCAA rankings, DU Hockey has officially unveiled the hockey program’s 75th anniversary jersey, which the team will wear multiple times during the 2024-25 season.

Denver’s jersey is a throwback to the jersey the team originally wore when the program first began play in the 1949-50 season. The red sweater, windbreaker, socks, gloves and helmet are trimmed with yellow, the school’s original color palette. There are six yellow stripes on the sleeves and socks of the jersey.

The Pioneers will wear the uniform for the first time on Saturday (Nov. 9) during the program’s 75th anniversary weekend against Lindenwood. Alumni from all decades of Denver hockey will be in attendance to celebrate the program’s diamond anniversary.

75th anniversary merchandise items can also be purchased exclusively at the DU Bookstore.
