All-star Freddie Freeman ready for the emotional return to Atlanta

All-star Freddie Freeman ready for the emotional return to Atlanta

Atlanta-Vier Years of return visits in Atlanta prepared Freddie Freeman for another on Tuesday evening, this time as the first Baseman of the National League in the All-Star game.

Freeman, now in his fourth season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, played his first 12 seasons with the Atlanta Braves. He does not try to hide his feelings when he comes back and says he will not be surprised if another warm reception of fans creates another emotional reaction.

“Now that I am here, it will be something special,” said Freeman on Monday evening. “In the past four years, every time I come back, they have the big ovations so big to me that I don't expect anything.

“I'm just happy to be back and play in front of these fans again.

Dave Roberts, Manager of Dodgers, said it was clear how much it returned to Atlanta for Freeman as an all-star.

“It is something that I know when they announced that it would take place here, it was marked in its calendar,” said Roberts. “And then it was his goal to return here and to come to the loyalty of the good, which for what, 11, 12 years old. So he sleeps in his own bed for a few nights.”

Freeman said he visited Braves Manager Brian Snitker and some former teammates, but spent more time enjoying his relationship with the Atlanta fans.

“It's something special,” he said. “I think every time I come back, I try to portray what Atlanta means for me. Oh, it is something special if I come back and what receptions you have given me in the past four years. So I have spent many wonderful years here. … I am excited to be back.”
