Tennessee Baseball gets Elite Pitcher from MLB Draft


Cameron Appenzeller will take up for Tennessee Baseball, the announced recruit told Knox News when the Vols received great news on the second day of the draft of 2025 MLB.

According to Perfect Game, Appenzeller is classified as a left -hander in the nation and the overall brochure No. 18. MLB.com evaluated Appenzeller as No. 58 -prospect in the MLB design. He informed Knox News that he came on campus in the 12th round on July 14th.

He was selected in the 19th round by the Seattle Mariners with Pick No. 572.

Appenzeller's decision to play for Tennessee for Tennessee was part of a victory for coach Tony Vitello and the 2026 Tennessee squad. Pitcher Brandon Arvidson decided to return to Tennessee. The elite catcher signer Trent Grindlinger also opted for UT and Switch Hitting-Shortstop Ethan Moore. All three told Knox News about their decisions on July 14th.

The 6-foot-5, 180 pound appeals committed itself to Tennessee in early November. He visited Tennessee for Kentucky Game. The Springfield (Illinois) Glenwood High School Star has previously committed to South Carolina. He also held the state Mississippi.

He also played basketball and golf in the high school.

According to Perfect Game, Grindlinger is the high school catcher No. 2 in the nation and the total view No. 30.

Grindlinger committed to Tennessee in May. He was initially hired to the state of Mississippi, who released coach Chris Lemonis on April 28. He comes from Huntington Beach, California. He will be a draft draft in the second year in the 2027 MLB design.

Moore, an information from Oak Park and River Forest High School in Illinois, is number 93 in the nation, according to Perfect Game. He is classified as No. 35 Shortstop. MLB.com classified him as a number of 100 prospect in the draft.

The 6-foot, 190 pound bogs turned its commitment from Louisville in November after an official visit to UT in early November. He was drawn in by the Cincinnati Reds in the 18th round with Pick No. 534.

Tennessee had three signatories selected in the first round of the design.

Shortstops Steele Hall and Billy Carlson were selected with two picks. Hall was selected by the Cincinnati Reds No. 9 and Carlson was selected by the Chicago White Sox No. 10.

Pitcher Kruz Schoolcraft was recorded by the San Diego Padres number 25.
