IL Compotroller Susana Mendoza says

Chicago (WLS) – Illinois Compotroller Susana Mendoza said that she would not run for re -election.

She made the announcement at a press conference in the Los Comales restaurant in the 26th Street in Little Village.

Although Mendoza will not strive for a different term as a state improver, she said that she left the door open for the future.

Mendoza became emotional at one point this morning. She said that she was horrified to end her term until January 2026.

For three terms, Mendoza said that she worked as a Chief Financial Officer of the state.

Mendoza is no stranger to politics. She was also a state representative and served as Chicago employee. In 2019 she ran for the mayor and says she does not rule out again.

When asked if she is considering running for the congress? She said no.

In the next few weeks she says she will do a “listening tour” to hear from the voters what they need.
