Phoenix mercury places a way to the overall salvation rule

Phoenix mercury places a way to the overall salvation rule

If you play your cards properly, the Phoenix Mercury from the game on Wednesday could come out against the Minnesota Lynx as a reigning team in the league, a reality that was not necessarily predicted before the start of the season in May.

Admittedly, the team is kept without Sabally, Lexi, Kahleah Copper and Monique Akoa Makani, but if Dewanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas can continue their characteristic brand of mind-registration magic, Phoenix has a real picture if it is legitimally the best.

The mercury came into the 2025 season from 19-21. It wasn't the worst in the league and it wasn't the best, but it was far from her 15:6 record this season. In almost every way that is really important, Phoenix has not made any mistakes this year, and there is no reason to assume that they will start now.

A lot lies with Dewanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas

It is no secret that Bonner, who signed the mercury at the beginning of July last month, and Thomas (who are also engaged) play a very special kind of basketball together. Both are individually enormous talents and combine them together as one of the most unique duos of the WNBA. They are constantly aware of the positioning of the other and can easily eat the ball with each other almost easily and put together their games incredibly to see no matter who they have for.

The couple is asked to repeat their performance against the Valkyries if they hope to dismantle the lynx again, especially since Minnesota operates very close to full performance (the team will only miss Karlie Samuelson who is traveling for the rest of the 2025 season after injuries to their foot). Bonner, who played her best game from 2025 against Golden State on Monday evening, ended the game of last night with 22 points, 11 rebounds, two templates and a steal in 29 minutes. Although she came from the bank, Bonner played more minutes than every starter next to Thomas and teammate Sami Whitcomb.

Thomas, who was appointed Western Conference player of the week on Tuesday, scored 29 points in the career high of 29 points in the last game of the Mercury. It has also put together another double double with 17 points and 11 templates.

It is unlikely that Minnesota Phoenix makes things easy, especially since the game will be played on her home square on Wednesday, but if the Mercury takes off it, it will probably not be stopped this season.
