So far, 10 of the 25 station calouts have been completed with the work on four of them. Work has also started on six of the nine Porte Cochere roofs over Cab Road. In total, the project is expected to replace around 10,000 glazing discs and is to be completed in early 2027.

The upgrade work was a complex project and included a protective layer in the ward under the glass shafts to ensure the safety of both passengers using the ward and in the engineers who work on site. Then an access scaffold is built to the protective location -decking to give engineers access to the roof bays.

Most of the important works had to take place overnight in the short time when the station was closed in the early morning. This includes building and dismantling the scaffold when you pull into a new bay and deliver materials and garbage are removed from the construction site.
