  • Wendys took fifth place to the best fast food restaurants in the 10 Best list USA Today.
  • Wendy's also took ninth place for the best fast food breakfast and chilli.

Fifty-six years ago, the international fast food chain was at home in Columbus, which now has thousands of locations in the United States and some were cultivated for the rest of the world.

And even after all of these decades, Wendy remains one of the nation's best burger joints – especially among McDonald's and Burger King – especially among the readers of the USA Today.

In a new 10 best list for fast food awards, Wendys took 5th place for the best fast food restaurant in the country for nothing other than its delicious menu.

That or the iconic “Where's the beef?” Slogan.

Regardless of whether it is the characteristic Square Burger, the fan favorite breakfast spider or the dessert Frosty, many Americans often make the Wendy run into your starting point.

It is the same menu that Wendy's also placed in 9th place in the country, both for the breakfast menu and for the fan favorite chili page in the USA.

Wendy's had decades to perfect his menu items and win customers who are looking for fast, delicious and unique meals. He was founded by Dave Thomas in 1969 and named the restaurant after his fourth daughter's nickname. The first location was opened in the 257 E. Broad St., in which the business was closed in 2007, a year after he moved his headquarters to Dublin.

After years of changes in stocks, investments, a potential sale of the franchise and a Chili scandal from Finger, Wendy's still has more than 7,000 locations worldwide.
