Young defender to pay attention to Alabama in 2025

Alabama's defense is always loaded with talent. From Dont'a Hightower to CJ Mosley to Minkah Fitzpatrick and Pat Surtain to Will Anderson Jr. and Jihaad Campbell. The defense of Alabama will almost always have a future selection in the first round lurking on this side of the ball.

Some had to wait, like Alabama's youngest rivers, Jihaad Campbell, Jihaad Campbell. The key to recognizing future first runners on Alabama Bank are the talents they show when they see the field, and last season they saw these lightning from three defenders: Qua Russaw, Yhonzae Pierre and Red Morgan.

On Wednesday, the Sec Media Days Alabamas Deontae Lawson and Kadyn Proctor asked about these three defenders.

“For qua, yesterday I remember a piece in which he shot me off the ball outside of the tight end,” said Proctor. “It is difficult to this guy. He is a faster, strong, powerful guy. You never know what he will do. Big hands, great feet. Mighty guy. He is a strong guy. I want to highlight that. He is also about business.”

Russaw started 12 games for Alabama as the leader of the tide at the wolf position last season. In his 12 starts, he scored a total of 36 duels, three duels for loss, two interceptions, a sack and forced fumbling. He will try to give his skills a violent passport when he enters his second season in a redshirt.

Lawson was asked for Pierre and Morgan.

“Yhonzae, he has grown to this edge -rusher you want,” said Lawson. “He is increasing. I think of 250 or something. He works hard every day. I think he is establishing himself a role and I think that's good, because once you find this role, just attack it and you are ready to go.”

Pierre played in 11 games for Alabama as a rotary winner at Wolf last season. In 11 games he scored six duels, two passport separations and a tackle for loss.

“And Red Morgan moved into the corner. In any case, learn something.

“Red is a freak athlete. He has all the tools to be a great player. It is now only developing into a schema type player and does what is best for the team. He attacks this full frontal.”

Morgan played in 12 games for The Tide last season. He achieved a total of eight duels, a duel for loss and a pass separation.

“I'm looking forward to both and their future,” said Lawson.
