Heat advice, flood guard – Saucon Source

The hot and stormy weather pattern from July continues in East Pennsylvania, where the National Weather Service has published both a heating consultant and a flood station for the Lehigh Valley and the surrounding area.

The flood guard is in force until Thursday at 3 a.m. and includes the counties Northampton, Lehigh and Upper Bucks. According to an NWS declaration, 1 to 2 inch rain is also possible from thunderstorms on Wednesday evening, with insulated quantities from 2 to 4 inches. The advisory explanation states that a lot of rain could cause fall floods, especially in areas at risk of flood.

This happened in parts of Center Valley and Saucon Valley on Monday evening when slowly moving storms were rain up to half a foot. Road sections such as Rt. 309 and LiMeportpikes were flooded by the violent downpours.

On Thursday, after the latest forecast, there is another chance of thunderstorms and showers, especially between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. During the day, the heat index could also be a problem for everyone who spend time outside of time.

According to an NWS heat clerk for the area, it will feel 100 degrees due to high humidity and temperatures that approach 90 degrees.

In order to prevent heat -related diseases, people should remain hydrated outdoors and regularly take breaks. The NWS also advises to wear light, loosely sitting clothes and use air conditioning if possible.

The heat advice applies on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

After Thursday there is a time with something cooler, more set up in the forecast. It is expected that high temperatures will be in the low until the mid -1980s until the beginning of next week. The largest rainfall is on Saturday evening until Sunday evening when showers and thunderstorms are possible.
