Comed crews work to restore power after storms hit the Rockford area


(Wifr) – From 11:30 a.m. on July 11, the Comed failed card reports more than 30 failures in the Rockford region, with 316 customers without electricity in Winnebago County.

For many failures, the supply company expects the power supply to be restored on Friday afternoon.

Rockford, Ill. (Wifr) – Almost 2,500 customers are in Winnebago County without electricity on Thursday, while storms roll through the region.

According to Comed, the supply company reports 81 failures in Winnebago County, whereby more than 1,200 customers are in Rockford without electricity in Rockford alone.

Hundreds of customers in Rockford Township, Machesney Park and Loves Park are also in the dark.

Outside the Winnebago district, failures in the counties Boone, Dekalb, Lee, Ogle and Mchenry were also reported. According to comed, Stephenson County has fewer than five customers without electricity.

For many failures, the time when the power supply is restored is listed as “outstanding” in accordance with the card.

From 8 p.m., July 10, the Rock Energy Cooperative has not reported any reported power failures according to its card.
