Auburn WR Malcolm Simmons arrested for domestic bodily harm

The Auburn Wide Receiver Malcolm Simmons, an expected starter this season, was arrested on Wednesday due to a domestic attack with strangulation or suffocation, according to Lee County's sheriff (Alabama).

Simmons was instructed to Lee County's prison at 6.20 p.m. His bond was set at 20,000 US dollars.

As a newcomer last season, Simmons with 40 receptions were second in the team, including three touchdowns. He also returned a punt for a score.

He is one of the players who mentioned Hugh Freeze at the beginning of this week on the media days of the SEC when the Auburn coach said he thinks this can be his best reception corps because he was with Ole Miss.

Simmons is the second Auburn player who was arrested this month. Linebacker DJ Barber was released from the team last week, while he was exposed to several drug accusations, including the trade in marijuana.
