ICSE class 10 history and citizen curriculum: The updated curriculum for ICSE class 10 for the academic year 2025–26 is now available. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has published the History and Civics curriculum, including details on the course structure, the marking scheme and the examination pattern for the upcoming board examinations. This article contains the complete curriculum for pre -history and citizenship in a clear and student -friendly format to effectively prepare the students.

This article contains a comprehensive curriculum of history and citizenship for the academic meeting 2025–26, since there are no significant changes in the ICSE class -10 history and in the Civics curricula. The board tests are based on the full curriculum. The students are recommended to carefully check the latest curriculum of history and citizenship in order to understand the topics treated and the examination pattern for the year.

Section A: Civics

1. The union legislation

Significance of federal structure in India.

Differentiation between the Council of Ministers and the cabinet.

3. The judiciary

(a) The Supreme Court:

Composition, qualifications of judges, appointment, independence of the judiciary

the control of executive and legislators; Jurisdiction and functions: original, appeal, advice, review, judicial review and judicial court. Implementation of fundamental rights and writing.

(b) The High Courts:

Composition, qualifications of judges, appointment; Jurisdiction and functions:

Section B: History

1. The Indian National Movement (1857 – 1917)

(a) The first war of independence, 1857

2. Mass phase of the national movement (1915-1947)

(a) Mahatma Gandhi – Non -Cooperation Movement: Causes (Khilafat movement, Rowlatt Act, Jallianwala Bagh tragedy), program and suspension – CHAURI CHAURA incident and effects of the movement; The civil horseaus movement: causes (reaction to the Simon Commission, explanation of Poorna Swaraj at the Lahore meeting of 1929), Dandi March, program and effects of the movement, Gandhi-Irwin-Pact and the second round Table Conference; The end india movement: causes (failure of the cripps mission, Japanese threat), the solution of India and the importance of movement.

Causes of the rise of fascism in Italy and the rise of National Socialism in Germany. A comparative study on Mussolini's fascist and Hitler's Nazi ideologies.

(c) World War II

Causes (dissatisfaction with the Treaty of Versailles, rise of fascism and National Socialism, politics of appeasement, Japanese invasion in China, failure of the Völkerbund and Hitler's invasion in Poland). Short mention of the attack on Pearl Harbor and bomb attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Consequences (defeat of axis powers, formation of the United Nations and Cold War).

(d) United nations

(i) The goals of the United Nations of the Composition and Functions of the General Assembly, the Security Council and the International Court of Justice.

(ii) Main day centers of the United Nations:

Unicef, who and UNESCO – only functions.

(e) not oriented movement

Short meaning; Goals; Panchsheel; Role of Jawaharlal Nehru; Names of the architects of Nam.
