Another big championship means another opportunity for Scottie Scheffler.

The 29-year-old world No. 1, who won his third major at the PGA championship in May in the Quail Hollow Golf Club, will be won at Royal Portrush in the Open Championship this week.

With the profit, Scheffler would continue the trajectory he was in the past three and a half years, supported by a patient approach for the game that led to 16 PGA tour, three majors and counts.

If he conquered a fourth big title in Northern Ireland, Scheffler would contribute to his growing curriculum vitae. The list of men's golfers who hold four main titles includes old and young Tom Morris-Da's father-son duo, which comes from the home of the golf in St. Andrews, Scotland and South African Ernie Els.

It would also be the third different major Scheffler who leaves him with a US Open victory of the career -Grand -Slam. Only Gene Saracen, Ben Hogan, Gary player, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have won all four professional majors of men.

That doesn't mean that much for Scheffler, who rarely discusses the historical missions of his victories. During his press conference at Royal Portrush on Tuesday, he discussed how quickly the satisfaction of the profit replaces.

“It's great to win tournaments. It's a lot of fun,” Scheffler told reporters. “Sometimes the feeling takes about two minutes. If you celebrate, and then it is the case that you now have to do all of these other things that is great, but sometimes the feeling of just winning a few seconds. It's pretty exciting and just doesn't do that long.”

Scheffler's unique entry pointed to a property that helped him achieve his best on the course.

One reason why Scheffler has reached this point and why he is the favorite this week is his patience on the course. It is a way of thinking that became clear during his recent great victory.

In two rounds of the PGA championship in May, Scheffler was three strokes by Leader Kim Si-Woo. He hadn't played excellently: he doubled Bogey the 16th hole on Thursday and admitted that he had improvement room after his opening round.

In the third round, Scheffler played his first 13 holes in one-uner and set two shots back from Bryson Decimbeau. But he used the next five holes and carded Eagle on the driving of Par-Four 14th and Birdie on 15, 17th and 18th Birdie.

Scheffler stood and kept in a fight in the first 49 holes. However, these last five holes on Saturday convinced him.

The last round was a challenge because Scheffler in the front countries with two outdated and briefly got into a tie with Jon Rahm in Spain.

Once again he closed heavily on the back nine with a two-below 34. When he concludes the win of five bars, Scheffler hugged his Caddy Ted Scott, raised his arms in the air and hit his hat on the floor.

Scheffler won the 2025 PGA championship in the Quail Hollow Country Club for his third career -major.

His focus and patience had paid off again.

“When I stepped on the T -shirt on Thursday, I don't think about what will happen on Sunday,” Scheffler told reporters after winning the tournament. “I prepare for a 72-hole event. I say that in the first tee: there are 72 holes. This is a lot of time. These are many holes. These are many shots.”

Scheffler's patient approach praised his colleagues. In a documentary published by the PGA Tour, Scheffler's 2024-season 2024 draws a number of two-time Major winners Collin Morikawa, and the Swedes Ludvig Åberg-Die Verilung of Scheffler's patience and focus.

Woods, a winner of 82 PGA tour events and 15 majors, compared to Scheffler's way of thinking even to his own.

“There are over 72 holes, it's not a sprint, that's about a marathon,” said Woods. “I think there is the similarity between playing the game.”

This mentality has believed in the past three and a half years. However, it took a while for Scheffler to develop it.

“I think when I was young, I would either hold it out or do it into the air somehow,” said Scheffler on Tuesday. “Now I think that I keep it better to keep it, but also to get the next shot and almost sharpen my focus, where after a little frustration I am in a better place than I am before when that makes sense.”

Before the 2022 World Cup Phoenix was open, Scheffler was one of the best players on the PGA tour without victory. He won Rookie of the Year in 2020 and ended the top 20 in all six majors in which he took part in 2020 and 2021. He was also part of the victorious US team at the Ryder Cup 2021 and knocked down, then the top player in the official world golf ranking in the singles.

But Scheffler's Playoff win against Patrick Cantlay in Phoenix was a starting pad.

“Definitely nice to get my first win under the belt, and I think the first is probably always the most difficult,” Scheffler told reporters at the time.

Scheffler won three other tournaments in 2022, including his first major at The Masters, and two tournaments in 2023, including the Players Championship.

Scheffler will be awarded the green jacket by 2021 Masters Champion Hideki Matsuyama after winning the Masters in the Augusta National Golf Club in 2022.

In 2024 Scheffler was a machine. He won eight times, including a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris, the Masters, the Players Championship and the Tour Championship -the last one who earned him the Fedex Cup and its 25 million dollar payment. He was the first player who won at least seven events since Woods did this in 2007.

His encore this year was delayed by a month because he had suffered a hand injury when he made Ravioli for Christmas dinner. While Scheffler had not won a victory by the end of April – he won four times a year ago – his worst departure at the World Cup Phoenix Open was a tie for the 25th place. He also finished fourth in his title defense at The Masters, three shots behind the victorious McIlroy.

At the beginning of May, Scheffler won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson tournament with eight strokes. Its 31-Unter-PAR-253 total value is the lowest 72-hole mark in PGA tour history.

His PGA Championship win two weeks later in Charlotte made him the third player since World War II to win three majors and 15 or more PGA tour events before he turned 29. The other two? Nicklaus and Woods.

His repeated victory at Nicklaus's memorial tournament achieved three victories in four tournaments. He and Mcilroy are the only players who have won three times this season.

If Scheffler won this weekend, his 2025 to 2024 season would increase cheaply. This would be his first season with two big victories and would continue the climb that Scheffler himself cannot fully understand.

However, he said that Golf is not the main focus. His wife, Meredith, son, Bennett and his faith everyone uses his day job.

“I think it's a pretty cool feeling to have such a feeling of performance,” said Scheffler on Tuesday. “It is very special to live out your dreams, but at the end of the day I am not out here to inspire the next generation of golfers. I'm not out here to inspire someone to be the best player in the world, because what is the point?

“This is not a fulfilling life. It fulfills from the feeling of performance, but it does not come true of a feeling of the deepest places in her heart.”

One thing is certain – all eyes will be on the favorite Scheffler to earn his first open championship this weekend.
