Marathon Ruth Chepngetich for positive doping test suspended


Monaco-Ruth Chepngetich, world record holder for women's marathon, was temporarily suspended for a positive doping test on Thursday.

According to the athletics unit of Track and Field, Chepngetich in March tested and “tested and” decidedly tested for a forbidden diuretics and masking agent

The Kenyan runner set up the world record in the Chicago Marathon by almost two minutes last October and ended in 2 hours, 9 minutes and 56 seconds. It was her third victory in Chicago.

The AIU did not give the 30-year-old runner a schedule for a disciplinary case.

Chepngetich was personally interviewed in Kenya in April and “inquiries about our investigation,” said Aiu official Brett Clothier in a statement.

The substance Chepngetich, which has been tested positively, hydrochlorothiazid or HCTZ, can be used to disguise the use of performance -enhancing medication.
