Sources – WR Mike Williams retired, the short chargers return


El Segundo, California – The Wide recipient of Los Angeles Chargers, Mike Williams, withdraws from the NFL, said Sources of Adam Schefter from ESPN on Thursday.

The agent of Williams, Tory Dandy, informed the front office of the chargers on Wednesday evening about the recipient's decision, said sources.

Retirement is a shock for the organization, a source told ESPN. Williams had worked aside during the offseason activities of the chargers when he worked through an unknown injury.

The team seemed to confirm Williams' retirement in a social media contribution, to write “Whole Lotta Love” and a photo of after the appointment of the chargers with the seventh overall selection in 2017.

The chargers had not able to physically unable to physically in front of the training camp. General Manager Joe Hortiz said on Wednesday that he was expecting Williams quickly at the camp.

Williams spent seven years with the Chargers before being released before the 2024 season. He spent the last season with the jets and Steelers and started Pittsburgh at the end of the trade.

He occupies the 10th place in the list of chargers with 4.806 yards. He is also 13th in recent (309) and touchdowns (31).

Williams was a favorite destination by Quarterback Justin Herbert. In the four seasons in which they played together, Williams had 187 receptions for 2,797 yards in 44 games.

Without Williams, the chargers in Quentin Johnston, Tre Harris and Keandre Lambert-Smith turn to the broad recipients. Harris is one of several non -signed newcomers in the NFL from the training camp.
